ABOUT US

Iwan & Louisa have been translating professionally since 1995, and together since 2005. Before starting Translutions, Iwan worked as a multilingual help-desk agent for IBM in Greenock, Scotland, and then as a translator and localisation project manager for German mid-range ERP software specialists DCW Software AG in Mannheim, Germany.

Louisa has worked as an in-house translator and project manager, firstly at Bonnscript Textredaktions- und Übersetzungsdienste GmbH in Bonn, Germany, then at BHF Bank in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, and finally at The Language Service Ltd in Stockton-on-Tees, England, before it was taken over by Eclipse Translations Limited of Alnwick.

As Eclipse was moving the TLS operations up to Alnwick, we moved our small family to Perth in Scotland, where Louisa continued translating as an Eclipse employee until finally joining the "family firm" after the birth of our second child.

Outside the world of translation, we both have varied interests, such as rugby and real ale (Iwan) and yoga and athletics (Louisa). The children also help give us the balance we need to ensure that we can approach every working day with a fresh and alert mind!
